Steven Gilbert was appointed President & CEO of Gilbert Home Comfort in June 2012. Steven is responsible for combining the strength and resources of the family of Gilbert businesses to drive growth and development while supporting Iowa's middle skills industry.
Steven has been a part of the industry since he worked alongside his father in Gilbert Plumbing and Heating at the age of 12. With over 20 years of field experience, Steven holds Master's licenses in the state of Iowa for both HVAC and plumbing. With the development of an aggressive marketing plan, Steven has grown the business by 600% over the last four years. He is building out their 50,000 square foot facility in Leon to include a Destination True Value Home Center, Energywise Spray Foam Insulation, Pro-Duct ductwork manufacturer, and Pro-Foam, a spray foam distributor. Steven's passion is to develop and implement a solution that addresses the nation's middle skills gap.
He is a native of Weldon, Iowa and 1989 graduate of Clarke Community High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Simpson College in 1994.
Steven is the father of three sons, Dalton, Peyton and Keeton. Dalton is an apprentice in the Gilbert Electrical Program and Peyton is an apprentice in the Gilbert HVAC program.
He has been a High School and College Football coach for 20 years. Steven is currently coaching the Central Decatur High School football team in Leon. He is a member of the Clarke County Development Corporation, Iowa Geothermal Association, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), and Leon Rotary Club.
